Okay, let’s rewind a sec—like, before I could even spell “hydrafacial” without Google and way before I had fancy booking apps or staff meetings that could pass as TED Talks.

Honestly, I was just another skincare junkie. Obsessed with serums, forever trying out TikTok hacks, and giving my friends “facials” that were basically just an excuse to gossip over sheet masks in my bathroom. Building a real business? That felt like a fever dream, not something I could actually do. Dreaming is cute and all, but the “how” part? Total buzzkill. I had zero business experience, no rich auntie to bankroll me, and, let’s be real, I was terrified to screw it all up.

Then I kinda tripped and fell into the whole beauty franchise world. I’m not exaggerating when I say it flipped my script.

This isn’t some rags-to-riches, cue-violin-music story. It’s just me, bumping my head on reality, finding my lane, and figuring out (sometimes the hard, embarrassing way) what it takes to build a beauty spot that goes beyond just surviving.

Chapter 1: When Passion Smacks Into Panic

Owning a medspa or beauty business? Sounds dreamy, right? I pictured spa music, pretty product shelves, and those magic moments when someone struts out feeling like a baddie. But then you start digging into the boring stuff—legal junk, payroll, marketing, booking software, hiring (ugh)—and, wow, suddenly it’s less “spa day,” more “should I get a migraine now or later?”

I realized fast: I needed help. Not another YouTube guru or some random checklist. I needed legit support, a blueprint, and maybe a whole squad.

Enter: franchises.

Chapter 2: The Plot Twist I Didn’t See Coming

No lie, I used to think franchises were just for greasy pizza or cheap rental cars. Never beauty. And, honestly? I thought it meant selling my soul and paying for it forever.

But curiosity won, like always. I did my homework, started reading up on beauty and medspa franchises, and—shocker—it wasn’t about “selling out.” It was about plugging into something that actually worked, with legit backing and a built-in game plan.

I could still bring my own vibe and personality, but with expert help, training, and a brand people already trusted. Basically, the cheat code I never knew I needed.

Chapter 3: The Support Squad

When I finally signed the papers, I felt like a freshman on the first day—totally lost, slightly nauseous, but kinda pumped. But instead of being tossed into the deep end, I had a crew helping me not drown.

They did more than just hand me a logo and say “good luck.” We’re talking help with finding the right spot, dealing with landlords (ugh, the drama), sorting licenses, planning the grand opening, training newbies, setting prices, launching marketing that actually gets butts in seats…all of it.

Chapter 4: Spoiler Alert—It’s Not Always Pretty

Let’s be real: just because it’s beauty doesn’t mean it’s all glam and rainbows. Some days, the towels don’t dry, your star injector ghosts you, or the WiFi dies right as Karen tries to rebook. It’s a business. It’s work. Sometimes it’s a hot mess.

I’ve ugly-cried in my car. I’ve made bonehead mistakes, had slow months, and had to learn some pretty tough lessons.

But then you get those killer days—record sales, glowing client hugs, and moments when you look around and think, “Damn, I built this.”

Chapter 5: Confidence, The Glow-Up I Didn’t See Coming

Here’s the real plot twist: the confidence. Not just in business-y stuff like managing cash flow or appointments, but in myself. I found my voice, started trusting my gut, and took risks I never would’ve dared before.

At first, I second-guessed every little thing. Now? I call the shots. I own my wins and my epic fails.

There’s a weird power in building something from scratch and watching it take off. And in beauty? You get to sprinkle that confidence on everyone around you.

Chapter 6: The Actual Day-to-Day

If you’re imagining endless sheet masks and espresso shots, you’re not totally wrong. My mornings? Quick scroll through bookings, pep talk with the team, and probably too much coffee.

Mid-morning? We’re elbow-deep in facials and fillers. I’m bouncing from the floor to DMs to TikToks, making sure the playlist slaps and the vibe’s on point.
